GANDHINAGER, WNS: In a historic event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday laid the foundation for a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. The way for a Ram temple at the controversial site was cleared by the Supreme Court last year, which decided the long-drawn title suit in favour of a Ram temple.

11.38 AM: CM Yogi Adityanath greets PM Modi upon his landing in Ayodhya ahead of the bhoomi pujan ceremony. PM Modi is also greeted by other leaders of the UP government at the helipad. The leaders were seen following social distancing protocols.
11:16 AM: As per tradition, PM Modi will first visit the 10th century Hanuman Garhi Temple on arrival in Ayodhya. Premises of the temple were sanitised earlier today.
He will later proceed to Ram Janmabhoomi site to offer prayers to Ram Lalla & lay the foundation stone for Ram Temple.
10:48 AM: Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Lucknow, will proceed to Ayodhya in a chopper for the Ram Mandir event.
