GANDHINAGER, WNS; Gujarat has reported 1,212 fresh cases of COVID-19 in the past 24 hours ending 5 pm on Saturday. The addition of the fresh cases has taken Gujarat’s total tally to 85,678.
2,883 COVID-19 related deaths in Gujarat
Fourteen deaths were reported in the state in the past 24 hours. The fresh fatalities have taken Gujarat’s COVID-19 related death toll to 2,883. While six deaths have been reported from Surat, three deaths have been reported from Ahmedabad. Junagarh has reported two deaths, whereas Vadodara, Patan and Kutch have reported one death each.
238 fresh cases in Surat, 179 in Ahmedabad
Of the 1,212 fresh cases reported on Saturday, 238 cases have been reported from Surat and 179 cases have been reported from Ahmedabad. Similarly, 122 cases have been reported from Vadodara, and 27 cases have been reported from the state capital Gandhinagar.
This apart, Rajkot has reported 99 cases, Bhavnagar has reported 58 cases, Mehsana 26 cases, and Jamnagar 80 cases.
Meanwhile, Junagarh has reported 32 fresh cases of the virus, whereas the tribal district of Panchamahals has reported 36 fresh cases. Dahod has reported 14 cases, Amreli 67 cases and Kheda nine cases.
Similarly, Bharuch has reported 32 cases, Valsad has reported six cases, Anand 16 cases, and Patan 13 cases.
With the addition of the fresh cases, the total COVID-19 case tally in Ahmedabad has increased to 30,020. The total tally has reached 18,373 in Surat, 7,077 in Vadodara, and 2,014 in Gandhinagar.
Ahmedabad’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 1,681
Similarly, the addition of three deaths in the past 24 hours has taken the death toll in Ahmedabad to 1,681. The death toll has increased to 592 in Surat, whereas it remains 118 for Vadodara and 51 for Gandhinagar.
68,257 COVID-19 patients discharged so far
According to the health department, there are 14,538 active cases of the virus in Gujarat. Of this, 85 patients are critical and have been put on ventilator support. So far, 68,257 patients have been discharged in the state after being treated for the viral infection. Over 980 patients were discharged in the past 24 hours.
