CM TELLS COPS TO IMPLEMENT LAWS BOLDLY TO MAINTAIN LAW AND ORDER, PUBLIC WELFARE WORKS IN GUJARAT

NEW DELHI, WNS: With a view to boost the morale of the police department of Gujarat, Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically told the top police officials that they should go ahead boldly in compliance with laws for maintaining law and order and performing their public welfare works in Gujarat; the state government will not stop the police department.

In this reference, the Chief Minister further stated that the stringent law and order situation is a basic precondition for all-round development of the state and to make it the best of the bests.

Mr. Rupani further specifically instructed to the police officials that the police should act with a perception that the people feel that the police is always on and with their side and must act with tough hands against anti-social activities.

The Chief Minister was speaking a video conference held, in the presence of Gujarat Home Minister Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja, with the police commissioners of all municipal corporations of the state, range IGs, and District Police Chiefs, from Gandhinagar.

The video conference was also attended by Chief Secretary Mr. Anil Mukim, Mr. K. Kailashnathan – Chief Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mrs. Sangeeta Singh – Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Director General of Police Mr. Ashish Bhatiya, IGP Mr. Narsimha Komar and Mrs. Nipurna Torwane – Secretary (Home).

The Chief Minister also praised and congratulated the entire police department for their role as a ‘Corona Warriors’ for imposition of ‘Lockdown’ during the lockdown situations in Gujarat

The Chief Minister categorically further stated that whenever there is a lethargy in imposition of law and order then out of fear people don’t get inspired to create something anew.

Mr. Rupani also instructed to the top police officials that with an objective to increase the conviction rate they should launch campaigns against absconding criminals, missing children, and prohibition crimes.

The state government has updated the police department with the needs of time and has brought promptness in solving cyber crimes by launching projects related to cyber crimes, CCTV network, Vishvash, Cyber Ashwat and others, he added.

He also urged them to be more vigilant in border districts as the state is a bordering-state and on the coastal security too.

With launching of a campaign against the corruption, the state government is determined to have zero tolerance against the corruption, the Chief Minister added.

Speaking during the video conference Mr. Pradipsinh Jadeja said that in the new environment the state police have created a new image for itself in the people’s mind. Police have adopted an approach of firmness with sensitivity to instill a sense of security among the people of Gujarat.

To enhance its fight against the corruption, the Home Minister had also called on the ACB to increase its man-power and up-gradation in technology.
